The profession still runs on pedigree: where you studied, who you worked for, what's in your portfolio. We'd rather see the idea.

Sqratch started with a frustration: the design world is choked by credentials, portfolios, and the safe career path. The best ideas rarely come with the right pedigree attached.
We started as Micro Nation in 2020 and became Sqratch in 2025. Same mission, bigger scope.
These days that mostly means building things and giving them away. Software that does the tedious parts of the job and shows its working. A directory that makes the profession legible to the people entering it. Writing that takes a position. We ran 6 competitions across 3 years to get here, and that archive is still open to read.

What We Make
The studio math, done and checkable. FSI, setbacks, staircases, ramps, concrete, rainwater. Every tool states its basis and assumptions on the page, so you can verify the number instead of trusting it.
A directory of practices worth studying, applying to, and reviewing, rated by the people who actually worked there. The information the profession usually passes around in private.
Architecture theory, history, and the spaces pop culture forgot. Plus the career advice school skips. Argument over compliance.
