AC Tonnage Estimator
Estimate your cooling requirements by providing your room's floor area, ceiling height, and sun exposure. Get the required AC tonnage and BTU in an instant.
Basis & Assumptions
- Rule of thumb: ~20 BTU/hr of cooling per square foot of floor area (1 ton ≈ 400–600 sq ft), scaled for ceiling height against a ~2.7 m (9 ft) standard.
- Adjusts ±10% based on high or low solar heat gain (sun exposure).
- This is a rough estimate only. Proper HVAC sizing requires a full ACCA Manual J heat-load calculation.
