Area Unit Converter
Enter a value once and read it in every unit that matters: the global units are always shown, and picking a region adds its local land units, from US sections to Japanese tsubo to Indian bigha by state.
Basis & Assumptions
- 1 ft = 0.3048 m exactly (international foot), so 1 sq ft = 0.09290304 m².
- 1 acre = 43,560 sq ft; 1 hectare = 10,000 m²; 1 are = 100 m²; regional units (tsubo, mu, rai, ropani, bigha, etc.) use their commonly cited local conventions.
- Pick a region to see its customary land units; the Indian bigha, katha and biswa are resolved by state. Customary values still vary by district or province, so verify against local records.
