FSI / FAR Calculator
Compute permissible built-up area from your plot and FSI — or check how much FSI an existing design consumes. Take base FSI, premium FSI and TDR from your city's current DCR; this tool does the arithmetic exactly.
Basis & Assumptions
- FSI (Floor Space Index) / FAR is definitional: permissible built-up area = plot area × permissible FSI.
- Base FSI, premium FSI and TDR values vary by city, zone, road width and plot size, and change with DCR/DCPR amendments — always take them from your local authority's current Development Control Regulations.
- This tool does the arithmetic only; it does not tell you what FSI applies to your plot.
For quick design checks and study — not a substitute for your local Development Control Regulations, NBC provisions, or a licensed professional's judgement. Always verify against the bye-laws that apply to your site.
